Kmetija-Camp Zalaze

Idealen kraj za odmik iz mestnega vrveža, ter neposreden stik z naravo in živalmi. Kmetija Zalaze, located in the village of Zakriž just over 2 kilometers away from Cerkno, sits at an altitude of 450 meters. Operating as an eco-farm since 2002, the farm spans almost 6 hectares of cultivated land for animal feed.

About the Farm

The farm provides a unique experience by greeting guests with donkeys and Icelandic horses. In the winter months, they roam in the barn with access to the yard, while in summer, they graze in nearby fields. Visitors can explore the functional fruit dryer on the farm, filled with various fruit trees. Additionally, the farm features a barn and an old house with intriguing arched storage spaces suitable for aging cured meats.

Campground Facilities

• Camping Area: Set in a large meadow by the Idrijca River, offering space for two large or several small tents.
• Amenities: Sanitary facilities with showers in a bungalow with a mini kitchen are conveniently located near the camping area. Separate toilets and showers are also available a few meters away.

RV Camping

Visitors can enjoy camping with RVs or trailers at the farm. Services include electrical hookups for four RVs, access to drinking water, washing facilities, and a designated area for waste disposal and chemical toilets. Additional toilets and showers with hot water are located nearby. The picnic area can also be utilized.

Picnic Spot

The picnic area, near a shelter providing refuge in inclement weather or extreme heat, offers a gas grill and a convection oven for guests to use. Adjacent to the area is a bungalow equipped with a mini kitchen, cooking utensils, picnic supplies, loungers, and restrooms. Camping tents can be pitched in the meadow if the picnic extends late into the night or for multi-day rentals.

Campfire Area by the Idrijca River

The campfire space beside the Idrijca River is accessible either by footpath from the village of Reka pri Cerknem (15 minutes) or by crossing the river on a suspended cart ride, making for an exciting entry. The location can accommodate large groups for camping or picnics, with a shelter for diverse activities. It features volleyball courts, wooden toilets, and a beach ideal for swimming and observing the pristine river and aquatic life.

The farm actively participates in ecological farming practices and sustainable land management, emphasizing biodiversity preservation, water resource conservation, soil fertility, and environmental protection. Implementation of these practices contributes to public well-being and the maintenance of agricultural landscapes.
