Welcome to Maine Forest Yurts, a unique glamping destination nestled on 100 private acres along the serene shores of Runaround Pond in Durham, Maine. This eco-friendly retreat offers an immersive experience in nature, perfect for families, couples, or groups looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Yurt Accommodations

Choose from a selection of beautifully crafted yurts, each designed to enhance your outdoor experience while providing modern comforts. Our yurts include:

• Fisher Ridge Yurt – Sleeps up to 6 guests.
• Hemlock Ridge Yurt – Sleeps up to 6 guests.
• Hideaway Yurt – The most private option, sleeps up to 6 guests.
• Zen Den Yurt – Sleeps up to 6 guests.

Each yurt features twin-size bunk beds and futons that convert to full beds. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding, or sleeping bags can be rented for a small fee.

Amenities

Our yurts are equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay:

• Fully Furnished Kitchen: Equipped with a 4-burner gas stove, full oven, sink for dishwashing, and a propane grill.
• Heating: Each yurt includes a wood stove for warmth during colder months, with firewood provided.
• Bathroom Facilities: Each yurt features a private composting toilet and a 3-season, gravity-fed shower stall.
• Lighting: Solar battery-powered lighting and USB charging ports for cell phones (note: no electrical outlets).
• Outdoor Fire Pit: Enjoy evenings under the stars with firewood available for purchase.
• Kayaks and Canoes: Provided for guest use, with a peaceful pond ideal for exploration.

• Summer: Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking across local trails.
• Winter: Opportunities for ice skating, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
• Conveniently located just 5 minutes from Bradbury Mountain State Park and 15 minutes from Freeport, where you can explore local shops including the iconic L.L. Bean.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

• 14 Day Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable deposit is required unless notified 14 days before your arrival.
• 30 Day Policy: For bookings of two or more yurts, a 30-day notice is needed for cancellation.
• Cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation will incur a charge of the full amount.

Responsibility & Etiquette

As part of your stay at Maine Forest Yurts, we ask guests to:

• Practice a ‘carry in – carry out’ policy for waste.
• Observe quiet hours between sundown and sunup to maintain the peaceful atmosphere.
• Treat the surrounding natural environment with care to ensure it remains pristine for future visitors.
