Transport Options

Accessing Ngahere Hou is part of the adventure, as the road is currently closed due to repairs from storm damage. Guests are encouraged to use the water taxi service from Picton to Torea Bay, followed by a 20-minute drive to reach the campground. Alternatively, for those hiking the Queen Charlotte Track, follow the powerlines until you spot the Ngahere Hou sign. A shuttle service is also available for those needing transfers, with a cost-effective luggage transport option for track walkers and bikers.

Ngahere Hou is committed to sustainable living, operating entirely off-the-grid with solar power and collecting its own rainwater.
