Nestled between the stunning Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills, The Lorax Patch offers a charming camping experience that embraces nature and tranquility. As a family-run campsite, we prioritize creating a relaxing environment where our guests can enjoy the great outdoors while connecting with the simplicity of rural living.

A Unique Camping Experience

Established in 2018, The Lorax Patch spans over 5 acres of farmland and is designed for those who seek a rustic and serene camping getaway. Our philosophy is centered around providing ample space for each camping group rather than maximizing the number of pitches. We encourage campfires, inviting guests to unwind under the starlit sky.

Accommodation Options

We offer a variety of accommodation types to cater to different preferences:

• Tents: Bring your own tent and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings in a relaxed atmosphere.
• Yurts: Experience our spacious yurts, ideal for families or larger groups. The 24′ yurt can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests and includes a wood burner, making it a cozy retreat.
• 18′ yurt: Perfect for families, this yurt features a super-king bed and additional mattresses for children, wood burner included.

Facilities

While The Lorax Patch embraces a back-to-nature ethos, we provide essential amenities for a comfortable stay:

• Composting Toilets: Eco-friendly and efficient, our composting toilets offer a sustainable alternative.
• Outdoor Shower: Enjoy a hot shower in the fresh air to refresh after a day of outdoor activities.
• Parking: Guests are kindly asked to park their vehicles approximately 150 meters from their pitch to preserve the natural surroundings.

Farm & Food

Our campsite is also a functioning farm that embraces organic practices. We rear livestock and grow a variety of fruits and vegetables, promoting a low-carbon footprint. Local veg box deliveries ensure you can enjoy fresh produce right at your campsite.

The Lorax Patch serves as a superb base for discovering the beauty of Somerset. With a plethora of attractions and activities within a 10-mile radius, adventure awaits:

• Visit the historic City of Wells, with its stunning cathedral and charming streets.
• Explore the mystical Glastonbury, famous for its tor and rich mythology.
• A network of walking paths and cycle routes are accessible directly from the campsite.

We are the Bolton family—Gabriel, Charlotte, Leonard, and our playful dog Bess. Our passion for this land drives us to be its temporary custodians, treating it with care and aiming to leave it better than we found it. Our vision for The Lorax Patch is to create a welcoming retreat for all nature lovers while maintaining a holistic approach to farming and camping.

To reach The Lorax Patch, follow the directions closely as the postcode may not lead you directly to us. Look for a red-painted gate set back a few meters from the road, marking your entrance to a peaceful retreat.
