This charming campsite is situated on ridge and furrow land, gently sloping down to the picturesque Oxford Canal, providing a beautiful backdrop for your outdoor retreat. Whether you are a seasoned camper or new to the outdoors, The Pig Place is designed to offer a tranquil escape.

Accommodations

The Pig Place accommodates various camping preferences with an array of pitches, catering specifically for motorhomes, caravans, campervans, and tents. Each pitch is designed to host up to two adults, with flexible options for additional guests. The available pitches include:

  • Boar Pitch: Suitable for large vans or caravans over 23ft, equipped with electric hook-up (EHU).
  • Gilt Pitch: Ideal for smaller vans or caravans under 22ft, without EHU.
  • Hog Pitch: Designed for tents up to 6 berth, with no EHU, includes one car allowance.
  • Sow Pitch: Perfect for small vans or caravans under 22ft, featuring an electric hook-up.
  • Wild Boar Pitch: For large vans, caravans, or motorhomes over 23ft, without EHU.
  • Weaner Pitch: Accommodates tents up to 4 berth, with no EHU and one car allowance.
  • Piglet Pitch: Exclusive small tent pitch for those arriving by foot, bicycle, kayak, or motorcycle, with no car allowance.

Amenities

Although The Pig Place is a working smallholding featuring free-range poultry and livestock, it provides essential amenities for a comfortable stay:

  • Water Supply: The site uses a borehole for water; however, please note there are no showers available.
  • Restrooms: Festival-style toilets are provided on-site, ensuring basic facilities for guests.
  • Campfire Areas: Guests can enjoy evening campfires in designated canalside firepit areas. Logs and kindling are available for purchase from the farm shop.
  • BBQ Facilities: Portable BBQs are permitted but must be elevated for safety.

Site Rules

The Pig Place aims to provide a peaceful camping environment, and potential guests should be aware of the following rules:

  • The campsite is child-free, with all guests over the age of 18.
  • Quiet hours are enforced between 11pm & 6am.
  • Refunds are not provided for inclement weather or early departures, and guests must adhere to all rules regarding conduct and campsite damage.
  • Visitor access to camping fields is restricted; however, guests are welcome at the outdoor café.

Located by the beautiful Oxford Canal, The Pig Place is ideal for aquatic activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Guests can take advantage of the scenic walking and cycling paths nearby. Fishing is also available along the canal for those with their own fishing licenses.
