Camping Accommodations

• Communal Camping Spots: The campground features 10 communal camping spots located in a spacious, open area between the bathhouse and pavilion. These spots allow for shared experiences and camaraderie among campers, with a designated parking area.
• Private Tent Sites: Enjoy the comfort of 40 private tent sites, each equipped with a picnic table and up to two elevated 10’x10’ wooden tent platforms. Each site accommodates a maximum of 4 guests and allows designated parking for up to two standard-sized vehicles.
• Vehicle Camping Parking Spots: For those preferring to sleep in their vehicle, the campground offers 7 vehicle camping spots. These spots are suitable for cars, trucks, or vans only, accommodating up to 2 guests without any additional amenities like picnic tables.

• Bathhouse: A modern bathhouse equipped with free showers, toilets, and dishwashing sinks is available for all guests. Charging stations for small electronic devices and a covered deck complete this essential facility, ensuring comfort during your stay.
• Communal Fire Rings: Enjoy the warmth and ambiance of two communal fire rings where campers can gather for cozy evenings. Firewood is provided, but note that individual campfires are not permitted due to safety concerns.

Reservation Information

Reservations are a must at the New River Gorge Campground, with the following requirements:

• Commencing March 1, 2024, reservations are accepted online.
• Same-day reservations must be made by 11 a.m. on the day of arrival.
• Pricing varies for different camping options:
  • Private sites: $24 for members, $32 for non-members (plus tax).
  • Communal camping: $10 per person for members, $14 for non-members (plus tax).
  • Vehicle sites: $16 for members, $20 for non-members (plus tax).

Seasonal Availability

The camping season typically runs from March 29 to December 1, depending on weather conditions. Winter camping is allowed, although the bathhouse will be closed, and an honor system is in place for payment at a rate of $5 per person per night.

Additional Information

• No RVs, trailers, or vehicles over 20ft are accommodated, ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed environment throughout the campground.
• Camper etiquette is encouraged—feel free to share your campfire stories with fellow campers at the communal fire rings.
