Campsites and Amenities
North Fork County Park features approximately 132 individual campsites, situated in five distinct areas:
- Cold Water
- Cutler Flats
- Loop A/B/Corrals
- Middle Gate
- Mustang Flats
Each campsite includes essential amenities such as:
- Fire pits
- Picnic tables
- Running water
- Nearby flushing toilets
The park also offers limited ADA facilities, and horse corrals for equestrian visitors. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring a natural and unregulated camping experience.
Unique Yurt Accommodations
For a unique camping experience, North Fork Park introduces yurt rentals. Named after local tree species, the yurts include:
- Aspen
- Elderberry
- White Fir
Each yurt is equipped with:
- Two bunks
- One double bed
- Picnic table
- Stove
The yurts provide a cozy sheltering option, with a common pavilion and fire pit located outside. Winter rentals are available through Ogden Nordic, with firewood provided. In summer, the yurts are fully accessible by hiking or biking.
Outdoor Exploration
North Fork Park is renowned for its hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, which cater to all skill levels. The park’s extensive trail system includes:
- 15-20 miles of groomed Nordic skiing trails
- 10 miles for snowshoeing and fat biking
The park is also home to an International Dark Sky Park, attracting stargazers and night sky enthusiasts. Established as a Dark Sky Park in 2015 by the International Dark-Sky Association, North Fork offers incredible opportunities for nighttime exploration.
Group Camping and Facilities
For larger gatherings or events, North Fork County Park features six large group sites with covered pavilions and restrooms, accommodating approximately 50 people. Two smaller group sites are also available for 30 people, both equipped with:

Reservations are required for group sites, making them a perfect choice for family reunions, camps, or team-building activities.
Seasonal Availability and Park Information
North Fork County Park typically opens the first weekend of May and operates until mid-October, depending on weather conditions. Please note that water services will cease mid-October, and it is advisable to call ahead for closure status.
