Reservations and Availability

The campsite operates on a first come, first served basis for most of the year, but advanced bookings are required during the Great Walks season, which typically runs from 15 November to 30 April. During this peak period, it’s advisable to secure your spot ahead of time to ensure a memorable camping experience.

Campsite Amenities

• Capacity: 15 non-powered/tent sites available.
• Facilities: Primitive camping area where you must carry your own tent, sleeping bag, and cooking gear.
• Safety Measures: Fires are strictly prohibited. Campers are advised not to set up tents under trees for safety reasons.
• Park Ranger: A resident Department of Conservation (DOC) ranger is stationed nearby during the Great Walks season for assistance, information, and emergency help.
