Located in the heart of Maine’s stunning Western Mountain Region, South Arm Campground offers a unique blend of natural beauty and outdoor adventure. Nestled beside the tranquil waters of Richardson Lake, this campground is a paradise for nature lovers, providing an idyllic setting for relaxation, exploration, and recreation.

Accommodations

South Arm Campground provides a variety of accommodations to cater to every camper’s needs:

• 65 Campground Sites: The main campground features 65 wooded sites, including options for RVs and tents. About 50% of these sites are located right on the lake, ensuring gorgeous views and easy access to the water.
• 38 Wilderness Tent Sites: For a more secluded experience, choose from 38 lakeside or island tenting sites, accessible only by canoe or boat. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and outhouse.
• 40 Marina Slips: The well-equipped marina provides slips for boats, along with rentals for canoes, kayaks, and small motorboats.

• Full Connectivity: All campground sites include electricity and water hookups (30 amp service), with most sites enjoying views of the serene lake.
• Convenient Facilities: Clean restrooms with hot showers, as well as a laundromat and dump station, ensure a comfortable stay.
• Outdoor Activities: Guests can explore the nearby Appalachian Trail, fish in the lake or Rapid River, canoe through tranquil waters, or simply unwind on the sandy beaches.
• Pet-Friendly Policy: Well-behaved pets are welcome on a leash, making it a family-friendly destination for all members.

Seasonal Highlights

South Arm Campground opens its gates one week before Memorial Day and remains operational until late September. Peak summer months—July and August—feature waterfront and beach sites available for weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday, offering the perfect summer getaway.
