Accessibility and Location

Bennett Hill Campground is conveniently situated just off I-25. To access the campground, take the exit for Highway 319 in Glendo, then turn onto Lakeshore Drive. The campground will be approximately one mile down the road on the left. This easy access makes it a favorite among visitors seeking a quick getaway.

Amenities and Features

This campground is well-equipped to cater to a variety of camping needs. Key features include:

Electricity: Available at select sites.
Drinking Water: Accessible for campers during season.
Group Camping: Several sites (3, 4, 6, and 26-29) are designated for groups, accommodating multiple camping units.
Day Use Shelter: Available for reservation from May 1 through September 30.
Vault Toilets: Three vault toilet facilities are provided for visitor convenience.
Boat Ramp: A seasonal boat ramp and courtesy dock are available, with the dock usually operational from early Spring to late July.
Camping Types: Both RV and tent camping are permitted, with RV sites featuring large, established gravel pads.

The exception is the row of sites 11 through 20, which are lined with cottonwoods, offering a bit more cover.

It’s important for visitors to note that sites 11 through 20 may be affected by high water conditions, as they are closer to the water’s edge. However, all other sites maintain a comfortable distance from the water while still providing scenic views.

Important Information

Visitors are advised that the campground operates on a first come, first serve basis as of October 1, 2024, and seasonal water will be shut off for the year. It’s recommended to fill up on water before arrival, as dumpsters are also removed for the season until the following Spring.
