Fowlers Campground is a scenic and serene retreat located on the Upper McCloud River, just five miles east of McCloud, California. Nestled amidst a beautiful mixed conifer and oak woodland, this campground offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. At an elevation of 3,300 feet, right at the southern tip of the Cascade Mountain Range and at the foot of the majestic Mt. Shasta, this location is a true natural paradise.

Available Campsites

The campground features 35 regular campsites and two double campsites, all designed to accommodate both tents and mid-sized RVs or trailers. However, please note that large RVs are not recommended due to site size limitations.

• Standard Nonelectric Sites: Sites 01-39, primarily located in two loops (A and B).
• Amenities: Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets and piped drinking water.
• Bear Resistant Food Storage: Certain campsites are equipped with food storage lockers to keep your supplies safe from wildlife.

The nearby McCloud River, known for its stunning waterfalls, offers a captivating natural focus for visitors. The waterfall heights range from 15 to 50 feet and can be accessed via the McCloud River Trail or by paved roads.

• Access to Waterfalls: A riverside trail provides a scenic three-mile round trip hike that leads you to all three majestic falls.
• Recreational Activities: Swimming and fishing are popular in this area, with no special restrictions for fishing.
• Scenic Paved Road: The McCloud River Loop is a ten-mile road providing easy access to the falls for those who prefer not to hike.
