Located at the end of Sand Island Access Road, just off Nimitz Highway (Highway 92), this campground offers a blend of industrial charm and natural beauty. Camping Rates:
- Hawaii Residents: $20 per campsite per night for up to 10 persons.
- Non-residents: $30 per campsite per night for up to 10 persons.
- Children aged 2 and under are free.

While the park is known for its weekend camping, there are ample activities to enjoy in the surrounding area. The campground is situated adjacent to the Sand Island Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) riding area, featuring tracks and trails for motorized OHVs and non-motorized BMX bikes. Facilities

Gate Hours:
- Summer (April 1 – Labor Day): 7 am – 7:45 pm
- Winter (after Labor Day – March 31): 7 am – 6:45 pm
Night Security: Park gates are locked nightly around sunset for security.
Check-In/Check-Out: Campsite check-in begins at 2 PM and must then be vacated by 12 PM on departure day.
Campsite Management: Campers must set up in designated sites only and departure must involve cleaning up the area and extinguishing all fires.

Special Conditions & Regulations

The Sand Island State Recreation Area operates on a strict set of rules and guidelines to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests:

No campfires, fireplaces, or grills are provided—campers must bring their cooking equipment.
Campsites are closed from Monday through Thursday.
Cancellation or modifications to reservations must be made at least 15 days before check-in.
Vehicles will be locked in during evening hours, and overnight parking permits are required.
