Located in the stunning Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, Judith Landing Campground offers a picturesque natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This tranquil campground is a perfect base for exploring the wild beauty of Montana, with direct access to the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River.

Camping Experience

Open annually from May 15 to October 15, Judith Landing Campground is a prime site for various activities including:

• Watercraft Launching: As a major river crossing, it’s highly favored by canoeists and kayakers.
• Fishing: Anglers can cast their lines in the serene waters teeming with local fish species.
• Picnicking: Enjoy alfresco dining amidst breathtaking natural landscapes.

The campground offers eight campsites, each accommodating trailers or recreational vehicles (RVs) up to 40 feet in length. However, please note that there are no hookups available. All sites come equipped with:

• Designated fire rings for evening gatherings.
• Picnic tables for comfortable outdoor dining.
• Vault toilets for convenient sanitation.
• Trash dumpsters to maintain cleanliness in the area.

Site Access and Fees

Campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no reservations accepted. The nightly fee is $5.00 per site. Additionally, it is essential to know that no water is available at the campground, so visitors should plan accordingly and bring their own supplies.

Getting There

Reaching Judith Landing Campground is an adventure in itself. Here are the recommended routes:

• From Big Sandy, Montana: Travel south on Montana State Highway 236 for a total distance of 44 miles. The highway is paved for approximately 17 miles, with the remainder being improved gravel.
• From Winifred, Montana: Access the campground via PN Road (improved gravel), which is about 23 miles to the north.
