Established in 1969 by Fred and Mabel Batty, Lobster Buoy Campsites offers a quintessential camping experience on the beautiful coast of Maine. Nestled along over 400 feet of pristine Maine seashore, this family-run campground has successfully maintained its charming, rustic atmosphere while providing thoughtful amenities for modern campers. Here, generations of families have forged cherished memories, embracing the simple joys of outdoor living.
Unique Features
- Proximity to the Ocean: Each campsite is within 150 yards of the water, allowing guests to swim, beachcomb, and observe breathtaking marine life from their own site.

- Wildlife Watching: Guests can witness lobster boats traversing the cove, as well as local wildlife such as ducks, loons, and seals.
Camping Amenities

- Grassy Campsites: All sites come equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring, perfect for family gatherings and evening campfires.
- Bathroom Facilities: Enjoy hot showers and flush toilets available for your convenience.
- Water Supply: Sites are equipped with water hookups, encouraging responsible use to conserve this precious resource.
- Dump Station: Although there are no sewer hookups, a conveniently located dump station is available for RV users.
- Seasonal Store: A small campsite store operates in July and August, offering essential supplies, ice, and campfire wood.
Policies and Regulations
At Lobster Buoy Campsites, we prioritize a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. Some key policies include:
- Quiet Hours: 10 P.M. to 8 A.M. to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
- Dog Policy: One dog per site is welcome, provided they are leashed and cleaned up after.
- Fires: Campfires must be controlled and contained within designated fire rings.
- Maximum Stay: Guests can enjoy a maximum stay of 14 days to accommodate as many campers as possible.

Reservations
Booking a site at Lobster Buoy is straightforward. Reservations for the summer camping season can be made in the offseason via email. We start taking full week reservations in February and partial week reservations after May 15th. To ensure your spot, a non-refundable deposit is required.
