South Yuba Campground Overview
Nestled in the scenic South Yuba Recreation Area in Nevada City, California, the South Yuba Campground offers an enchanting escape into nature, surrounded by mountains and wild rivers. Established to provide outdoor enthusiasts with the perfect camping experience, this campground is accessible from mid-April through mid-October, depending on weather conditions. With sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis, it’s an ideal spot for spontaneous adventures.
Campground Amenities
- 16 Campsites: Accommodates both tents and RVs, with six sites designated for small trailers (maximum length of 22 feet).
- Facilities: Each campsite is equipped with tables, fire rings, and access to pit toilets.
- Water Supply: Piped drinking water is available throughout the campground.
- Bear-Proof Lockers: Food storage facilities provided to keep your food safe from wildlife.
- Garbage Collection: Visitors are encouraged to follow the “Pack it In, Pack it Out” principle, but trash receptacles are provided for waste disposal.
Camping Fees and Regulations
The cost for camping is $15.00 per night per site. Guests are allowed a maximum stay of 14 days within a 90-day period. Upon selecting a campsite, visitors must pay within 30 minutes using a self-pay station. Please note that there is no advanced reservation system, so early arrival increases the chances of securing a site.
