History

The land on which Wilgus State Park is situated was generously gifted to the state of Vermont in 1933 by Colonel and Mrs. William Wilgus. Initially developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the park opened to the public and has since been cherished for its beautiful picnic areas and the memorable experiences it offers visitors.

Park Access and Reservations

The campground operates from Monday, May 12 until the second Monday in October. Camping and day-use fees apply, and it’s encouraged to make reservations in advance, especially during peak season due to the park’s popularity. Visitors can easily find their way to the park via U.S. Route 5, ensuring a convenient arrival to this picturesque destination.
