Overview

Located in the stunning Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest at an elevation of 9,000 feet, Rainbow Campground offers an incredible outdoor experience amidst the scenic beauty of the White Mountains. The campground is surrounded by a diverse forest of ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, spruce, and aspen trees, providing ample shade and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for families and nature enthusiasts alike.

Accommodations

Rainbow Campground is the largest camping facility in the Big Lake Recreation Area, featuring a total of 165 campsites organized into six loops. The camping options include:

• Standard campsites: Ideal for single-family use, these sites allow for one camping unit each.
• Double and Group sites: Accommodating larger groups, the four double sites can host up to 16 people each.
• Accessible sites: Two single unit accessible sites are also available for visitors with mobility challenges.
