Located in the serene Hoosier National Forest, Hardin Ridge Campground spans across 1,200 acres of wooded splendor along the shores of Lake Monroe, Indiana’s largest lake. Available Campsites

Hardin Ridge boasts 197 campsites, designed to accommodate a variety of camping styles:

• 36 walk-in tent sites for those looking to immerse themselves in nature.
• Sites with electric hookups are available in most loops, except for the Eads and Southern Point loops.
• Centralized amenities include flush toilets, showers, and drinking water supply for your convenience.

Recreation & Activities

This campground offers numerous recreational opportunities, ensuring that there is something for everyone:

• Swimming: A beautiful 300-foot swimming beach provides an excellent area for sunbathing and swimming. Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty and glass containers or pets are not permitted on the beach.
• Fishing: Enjoy fishing along the shores of Lake Monroe. Common catches include bluegill, striped bass, largemouth bass, and crappie. Secluded inlets provide quiet spots for a relaxing fishing experience.
• Boating: A year-round, three-lane boat ramp allows for easy access to the lake, complete with a fully accessible loading dock and a parking area for vehicles and trailers.
• Hiking: Explore the Hardin Ridge Trail, a 2-mile trail ideal for hiking and biking, which connects the day-use area to various campground loops. The Ted T. Turtle interpretive trail offers a 1.2-mile educational hike through scenic hardwood forests.

Cabins and Shelters

For those who prefer a more comfortable stay, Hardin Ridge features:

• Two rental cabins located near the lake, each accommodating up to 7 people with bunk beds and essential amenities.
• Multiple picnic areas with tables and several shelter houses overlooking the lake, perfect for family gatherings.

• All visitors must obtain a daily parking permit during the recreation season.
• There is a designated dump station near the gatehouse for waste disposal.
• Please do not bring firewood from other locations to protect against invasive species.
• Generators are only permitted in specific loops, ensuring a peaceful ambiance for all campers.
• Pets must be leashed and are confined to specific areas; they are not allowed within the cabins.
