Access and Directions
Getting to the Leech Lake Recreation Area is easy from several nearby towns:
- From Grand Rapids, take Highway 2 west for 33 miles to Bena, then south onto County Road 8 for 8 miles to Federal Dam.
- From Bemidji, head east on Highway 2 for 35 miles to Bena and then turn south onto County Road 8.
- From Walker, take Highway 200 east for 20 miles to County Road 8 and proceed north to Federal Dam.
