Big Paint Campground — Yellow River State Forest

Big Paint Campground is in the Paint Creek Unit of Yellow River State Forest. The forest headquarters and recreation facilities are about 4 miles southeast of Waterville or 3 miles west of Harpers Ferry.

Big Paint Campground is one of four camping areas in the Paint Creek Unit. The campgrounds are non-modern and use vault toilets, with drinking water available near the office complex.

The Paint Creek Unit offers several campgrounds, marked hiking trails, mountain biking, equestrian trails, trout streams, and more. Across the forest, visitors can also hike, bike, fish, hunt, kayak, and ride horses.
