Welcome to Camp Joy, a family-owned and operated campground nestled just 4 miles south of the historic Caldwell, Texas, in Burleson County. Our mission is to provide a tranquil and enjoyable outdoor experience for RV travelers and nature enthusiasts alike. Offering spacious waterfront RV sites and a plethora of outdoor activities, Camp Joy is the perfect destination to create lasting memories.
Unique Features
Primitive Camping: Experience the great outdoors with our rustic offerings. Campers may choose their own primitive camping spots on our 3-acre private lakefront property, allowing for a secluded and intimate connection with nature.
Waterfront Activities: Enjoy activities like fishing and kayaking with access to two docks on the property. Our small lake, part of the Cade Lakes area, teems with crappie, bass, and catfish, making it a fisherman’s paradise.
Wildlife Viewing: Camp Joy is home to a fascinating array of wildlife. Immerse yourself in nature as you may catch glimpses of beavers, rare black squirrels, white-tailed deer, and various bird species.
Amenities
Currently, Camp Joy focuses on providing a simplistic and nature-centric experience. However, we are excited to announce an upcoming plan for amenities that include:
- Water and electric hookups
- Picnic tables
- Clean restroom facilities
For now, guests can enjoy primitive camping at affordable rates:
- RV Boondocking: $50 per night for two, with an additional $10 per person
- Tent Camping: $25 per night for two, with an additional $10 per person

At Camp Joy, the adventures are limitless:
- Fishing and kayaking on the calm waters of the small lake
- Building campfires and roasting marshmallows
- Exploring beautiful hiking trails at the nearby Birch Creek State Park
- Planning day trips to Lake Somerville for exceptional fishing and scenic drives
- Visiting local attractions like the “Texas Pickers” antique market and “Aggieland Wild Animal Safari”

Camping Experience
