About the Campground

Conto Campground features eight separate camping areas, each designed for a unique camping experience. The sites are primarily unpowered, accommodating tents and swags only, with designated compact sand parking areas. Each camping area is nestled among trees, providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility. However, note that the campground does not offer drinking water, so visitors should bring enough for their stay, treating any rainwater collected before consumption for safety.

Facilities and Amenities

• No-flush pit toilets: Available throughout all camping areas for personal hygiene.
• Fire rings: Present in Chuditch, Quenda, Davies, Hamelin, Whalers, and Whistlers areas, allowing for cozy campfire evenings when conditions permit.
• Food preparation shelters: Equipped with gas barbecues, dishwashing sinks, and picnic tables located in the Chuditch and Quenda areas.
• Accessibility: Certain facilities are wheelchair accessible to accommodate diverse needs.

Activities

Conto Campground serves as an excellent base for a variety of activities:

• Bushwalking: Explore the breathtaking Cape to Cape Walk Track, which stretches 123 kilometers along the coastline.
• Camping: Enjoy a traditional camping experience under the stars, surrounded by nature.
• Wildlife spotting: This campground is home to various species of birds and other wildlife, perfect for keen observers.

Camping Information

Booking is essential and can be made up to 180 days in advance. Each campsite operates on a per-person camping fee, with adults charged $20.00 and children at $5.00 per night. There is no vehicle entry fee for the park, making it accessible for all. When making a booking, guests can choose from available campsites within their selected area.

Safety and Regulations

Due to the risk of bushfire, especially during the hot months from December to April, visitors are advised to be cautious and aware of local conditions. Campfires are allowed within designated fire rings during less risky months, typically from April to November, although restrictions may apply based on the fire danger level. Additionally, collecting firewood is prohibited, so campers should bring their own or inquire about availability.

Getting Here

Conto Campground is easily accessible via Caves Road, with scenic drives leading through the breathtaking landscapes of the Margaret River Region. Prepare for occasional storms between May and October, and ensure you bring sufficient supplies, including food, water, and medication, for your adventure.
