Overview
Nestled in a thick forest alongside the breathtaking Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire, Covered Bridge Campground offers a serene escape into the heart of the renowned White Mountain National Forest. The area is home to abundant wildlife, including moose, white-tailed deer, and black bears, as well as approximately 200 species of birds like the rare Bicknell’s Thrush. With nearly 800,000 acres of forest to explore, nature lovers will feel right at home.
Campsites
Covered Bridge Campground encompasses two loops, featuring a variety of sites:
- Standard Nonelectric Sites (e.g., Sites 009 to 048)
- Tent Only Nonelectric Sites (e.g., Sites 017, 032, 041, 043, 045, 047, 049)
The sites are spacious and offer a rustic camping experience within a forested environment.
Amenities
While the campground maintains a natural and rugged atmosphere, it does provide essential amenities such as:
- Accessible vault restrooms
- A hand pump for water
Please note: There are no showers or dump stations available on site. Visitors are encouraged to plan their water supply accordingly.

- Vehicles taller than 7’9″ cannot cross the covered bridge; alternative routes are available for larger vehicles.
