The Medicine Lake Recreation Area features a total of 86 campsites spread across five distinct campgrounds: Medicine Campground, A.H. Hogue Campground, Hemlock Campground, Headquarters Campground, and Schonchin Springs Campground. These campsites range from rugged options with limited parking to more spacious areas that can accommodate recreational vehicles (RVs).
- Fifteen sites available for advanced reservations (located within Medicine and A.H. Hogue Campgrounds).
- All other sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Visitor Guidelines: A maximum of two vehicles and ten people per site is permitted.
Driving Directions
Visiting is convenient from various locations:
- From McCloud: Head east on US Hwy 89 south for 16 miles to Forest Service Road 15/Harris Spring Rd, then follow the road for a total of 27.5 miles to Medicine Lake.
- From Tulelake: Travel south on US Hwy 139 for 21 miles to Forest Service Road 97, turn right and continue for another 24 miles, then turn right on Road 49, with a short 2-mile drive to the campground entrance.
