Located within the stunning Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis, Alberta, the Point Backcountry Campground offers an idyllic escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Access and Location

The campground is situated approximately 50 km south of Hwy 1, accessible via Hwy 40 and Kananaskis Lakes Trail. The closest access point is at North Interlakes Day Use, requiring a 3.4 km hike along the Upper Kananaskis Lake Circuit. Adventurous campers can also reach Point by boat, though it’s important to note that there are no docking or mooring facilities available. Light watercraft can be pulled up on shore for easy access.

Amenities and Facilities

• Camping Capacity: A maximum of 6 people and 1 tent is permitted per site, with some exceptions.
• Toilets: Pit/vault toilets are located throughout the campground for visitor convenience.
• Food Storage: Secure food storage lockers are provided to protect your supplies from wildlife.
• Firepits: Designated firepits are available, and firewood can be purchased on-site.
• Grey Water Disposal: Facilities for safe grey water disposal are provided to maintain environmental standards.

Reservations for Point Backcountry Campground can be made up to 90 days in advance of your arrival date, ensuring that you secure a spot in this beautiful location. The current rate is $12 per person per night.
