Located in the picturesque Shakespear Regional Park, the Te Haruhi Bay Campground offers a unique camping experience in the stunning natural scenery of Auckland, New Zealand. With its gorgeous coastal views and rich biodiversity, this campground is a favorite among nature lovers and outdoor adventurers alike.

Camping Features

• The campground is flat and grassed, accommodating all modes of camping gear, including tents and vehicles.
• Surrounded by native plants, it provides a serene and secluded atmosphere, ensuring a peaceful stay.
• Amodest distance of approximately 250 meters from the access road brings you to the heart of the campground.

Amenities

• Flush Toilets: Restroom facilities are conveniently located for campers.
• Outdoor Showers: Two cold shower stations are available in the campground.
• Drinking Water: The campground sources potable drinking water from a town supply, with taps located throughout the area.
• Waste Disposal: Large recycling and general rubbish containers are provided, along with a worm bin for biodegradable waste.

Booking Information

Bookings can be made up to six months in advance, with availability refreshing daily at midnight. Group bookings have some limitations, especially during peak seasons:

• From 1 February to 16 December: Maximum of 50 people per group booking.
• From 17 December to 31 January: Maximum of 10 people per group booking.

Visitors must provide at least one adult’s details for booking, and group sizes must adhere to campground capacity regulations.

Park Rules and Regulations

• No Pets: Dogs and other animals are prohibited in the campground to protect the local wildlife.
• Fires: Open fires are strictly prohibited at all times to prevent accidents and preserve the natural landscape.
• Quiet Hours: Campers are encouraged to maintain a respectful noise level throughout their stay.
• Maximum Stay: Campers can enjoy a maximum stay of 7 nights from 20 September to 1 June, with a reduced capacity of 100 from 2 June to 19 September.

Te Haruhi Bay Campground is situated within the stunning Shakespear Open Sanctuary, enabling guests to explore several outdoor activities:

• Beach access for swimming and picnicking, perfect for family outings and relaxation.

Visitor Information

Access to the main park gates is available from 6 am to 9 pm during daylight savings hours, and 6 am to 7 pm otherwise. Clean footwear policies are in place to help protect the local flora and fauna, particularly to avoid the transfer of diseases affecting the kauri trees.
