The lookout features a charming 14-by-14 cabin that can accommodate up to four guests. Key features include:

Guests must bring their own bedding, cooking equipment, and water, as there is no water source available on-site.

- A rustic outhouse with a vault toilet is located about 200 feet from the lookout.
However, please note that water must be brought in, as it is not available on-site.
Getting Here
To reach Cougar Peak Lookout, from Thompson Falls, travel west on Highway 200 for about a mile. Before crossing the Clark Fork River bridge, turn right onto Blue Slide Road and continue for about 8 miles to the junction with Forest Road 403. Turn right and travel approximately 14 miles to the lookout. Please ensure to consult local maps for location details.
