Cimarron Campground is nestled in the breathtaking Valle Vidal area of the Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico, offering a serene escape at an elevation of 9,300 feet. • Visitors are advised that the site is a “pack it in, pack it out” location; no trash services are available
• A host is on-site to assist with any inquiries and parking arrangements for extra vehicles
• Horse facilities, including corrals and water troughs, are provided for equestrian guests

Driving Directions

To reach Cimarron Campground:

1. From Costilla, NM, take State Highway 522 and head east on State Highway 196
2. Continue to the intersection with Forest Service Road 1950
3. Follow the gravel road to the junction with Forest Service Road 1900
4. Cross Costilla Creek and continue on Forest Service Road 1950 for 10 miles
5. Climb 1 mile up the hill to reach Cimarron Campground
