- No Utility Hookups: Camping at Macks Canyon is perfect for those who enjoy a true natural experience, free from electrical amenities.
- Accessibility: Campsite 20 and vault toilets are wheelchair accessible to ensure inclusive access.
Camping Experience
Camping at Macks Canyon is a first-come, first-served basis only, which means you’ll need to arrive early to secure your preferred site. The atmosphere at the campground is peaceful, allowing for a serene escape from daily life. Camping fees are competitive, with peak weekend rates from June 1 through September 15 being:
- $12.00/night: Sunday through Thursday
- $35.00/night: Friday and Saturday
- Group Sites: $25.00/night Sunday through Thursday; $35.00/night Friday and Saturday
- Additional Vehicle Fee: $2.00 (tow vehicles excluded)
- Discounts: Senior Pass holders receive half price on individual campsites.

Accessing Macks Canyon
To reach Macks Canyon Recreation Site, follow these directions:
- From Maupin City Park, head north to Bakeoven Road’s junction with the BLM Access Road.
- Turn left onto the BLM Access Road and continue for 7.0 miles.
- Follow Deschutes River Road for one mile, then turn right onto OR-216 E (signs for Grass Valley).
- Proceed for 0.5 miles before turning left onto the BLM Access Road and drive the remaining 17.4 miles to the campground.

- Be aware that no cell phone service is available within the campground.
- Campfires are permitted only from October 16 through May 31, unless otherwise posted.
