Situated at an elevation of nearly 3,600 feet, the cabin is surrounded by majestic Ponderosa and Jeffrey pines, providing a refreshing shade during warm summer days.

Cabin Overview

The Sly Guard Cabin is a 600 sq. ft. single-story cabin, featuring:

• A cozy living room with a television and DVD player
• A fully equipped kitchen with an electric stove/oven, refrigerator, and a limited supply of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
• One bedroom with two single beds, plus a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room, accommodating up to four guests
• A full bathroom with a shower/tub combination and hot and cold running water
• A wood-burning stove for added warmth (firewood not provided)

The cabin grounds are designed to enhance your camping experience, featuring:

• A picnic table for outdoor meals
• A horseshoe pit for recreational fun
• A campfire circle (with small campfires allowed when fire restrictions are not in effect)
• A clothesline and a food preparation table

Guests can enjoy various activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking on the nearby Cedar Park trail, which is just steps away from the cabin. This paved 1.2 mile loop trail features an observation deck with stunning views of Pyramid Peak and the Crystal Range.

Important Information

For a safe and enjoyable stay, guests should keep the following in mind:

• Pets are not allowed inside the cabin; please clean up after outdoor pets.
• This is a ‘pack it in, pack it out’ facility; bring your own garbage bags and take trash with you upon departure.
• All visitors must adhere to the stay limit policy, allowing a maximum of 6 nights per cabin facility and a total of 12 nights across all rental facilities per calendar year.
• No RV hookups or dump stations are available; parking is limited to three vehicles.
• Guests should bring their own bedding, towels, toilet paper, and personal items.

Location & Access

Sly Guard Cabin is conveniently located off U.S. Highway 50 in Pollock Pines, approximately 16 miles east of Placerville. The cabin is just a 2-mile drive from a small resort that offers a store, restaurant, bar, gas, and fishing supplies.

Check-in time is at 2:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM.

Reservations & Regulations

Reservations can be made in advance, and it is advised to check for any fire restrictions that may be in effect during your planned visit. Make sure to keep the cabin locked and the gate closed when leaving the premises unattended.
