    It is reached from Cheaha Trailhead near Cheaha State Park on Highway 281 in Delta, Alabama, and the route passes through the Cheaha Wilderness in Talladega National Forest.

    The route is listed as 6.78 miles and follows the Cave Creek Trail, the Pinhoti connector, and the Pinhoti Trail to a side trail for the final quarter mile.

    The area has primitive campsites near the boulder cliffs. Some spots fit 3 or 4 tents, and there are also a few cliffside spots suitable for a small tent or hammocks.

    McDill Point is described as one of the best overlooks in Alabama, with sunset views, starry skies, and rocky outcroppings along the trail.
