No bookings are required—this campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, making it easy for spontaneous trips. Upon arrival, campers are greeted by camp hosts from Lake Rotoroa Water Taxi, who will register you and collect camp fees in cash or by Eftpos.

Location and Accessibility

Conveniently located off SH6, east of Murchison, just follow Gowan Valley Road to the end to discover this hidden paradise. The campsite boasts 10 non-powered/tent sites that allow you to camp right near the lake’s edge, surrounded by breathtaking native bush.
