Located just a few miles south of Waldport, Oregon, Beachside State Recreation Site is a picturesque campground that offers breathtaking views and an array of outdoor activities. Amenities and Features

• Camping Options: The campground features 32 electrical sites with convenient water access and 42 tent sites nearby, all with a limit of one vehicle per site. Additionally, there are two yurts available for rent, one of which is pet-friendly.
• Bathroom Facilities: Flush toilets and hot showers are available for a more comfortable camping experience.
• Accessibility: Two campsites and both yurts are equipped for universal access, ensuring that all campers can enjoy the beauty of the park.
• Day-Use Parking: Permits for day-use parking are also available, allowing visitors to enjoy the park without camping overnight.
• Firewood Purchase: Firewood is available for purchase during posted hours at the woodshed or Park Host sites, with bundles sold for $5 and fire starters at $1 each.
• First-Served Camping: The park operates on a first-served basis for certain sites, providing flexibility for spontaneous camping trips.
• Hiker/Biker Camp: Specialized options for hikers and bikers make Beachside accessible for all types of adventurers.

Seasonal Camping

The campground is open seasonally from March 15 to October 31, subject to weather conditions. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, ensuring you secure your spot in this beautiful location.

History

Beachside State Recreation Site was established to provide public access to the stunning ocean beach at Big Creek and to protect the native shore pine and vegetation in the area. Originally named Big Creek State Park upon its acquisition in 1944, it was renamed in 1957 to avoid confusion with other similarly named areas.
