Welcome to the City of Whittier Camp Ground, an exceptional destination for campers and RV enthusiasts looking to explore the stunning landscapes of Western Prince William Sound in Alaska. Nestled in Whittier, this campground offers a unique experience with its beautiful creekside setting, perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Location & Accessibility

The camp is conveniently located just a short walk from the local small boat harbor, private marina, cruise dock, and day-cruise facilities. To find the campground, turn right after crossing the railroad tracks on the main road from the Whittier Tunnel, and follow the signs to our parking lots.

Campsite Features

Our campground features over 50 individual, unserviced campsites, many positioned along the lovely Whittier Creek. Each site offers:

• Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and wilderness
• Proximity to nature, perfect for hiking and exploring
• Campfire rings and picnic tables at select sites for recreational activities
• Level areas suitable for both RVs and tents

All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and we typically open around Memorial Day, continuing until early October, weather permitting.

Parking Options

When it comes to parking, we offer designated areas to accommodate vehicles and trailered vessels:

• Main 5-Acre Lot and an overflow 6-acre lot available
• Parking for oversized vehicles and trailers, with specifics on size and rates as follows:
• Oversized Trailered Vessel (over 8’6″ width up to 10’6″ and up to 33′ length): $950
• Regular (up to 8’6″ width and 28′ length): $850
• XL Oversized Trailered Vessel (over 10’6″ width and over 33′ length): $1,050

All parking fees must be paid in advance, directly at the campground kiosk or through our attendant.

Rates and Seasonal Permits

Our rates are designed to be affordable for everyone. Here’s a quick overview of our pricing structure:

• $10 per night for 1-2 people with a single vehicle
• $20.00 per night for 3 or more people with a single vehicle
• $20.00 per RV or vehicle per campsite, covering 24 hours from noon to noon
• Seasonal passes are also available at attractive rates

Long-term parking options are available, with discounts for extended stays.
