About the Campground

Alger Island was acquired by the state of New York in 1950 and features 15 lean-to sites, each equipped with essential amenities including:

In addition to these lean-to sites, there are 2 designated tent sites, perfect for those looking to pitch their tents amidst the tranquil surroundings.

Camping Fees and Reservations

The camping fee is $18 per night, with an additional surcharge of $5 per night for out-of-state residents. Reservations for the 2025 camping season will open on November 15, 2024. Make sure you secure your spot early!

The Fourth Lake Day Use Area serves as a hub for campground activities, offering additional amenities including:

Picnic Tables: 17 picnic tables to relax and dine.
Charcoal Grills: 9 charcoal grills available for cooking delicious meals in the great outdoors.
Water Spigots: Conveniently located throughout the site.

This area also boasts stunning views of Fourth Lake and its surrounding picturesque hills and mountains.
