Welcome to Camp Winonah

Nestled in the scenic beauty of Harriman State Park, New York, Camp Winonah is a unique summer camp designed for at-risk youth aged 6-13. This non-profit residential camp offers an enriching environment where young campers can develop life skills, foster creativity, and appreciate the great outdoors. Spanning from June 30th to August 15th, 2025, Camp Winonah provides a structured yet fun-filled experience, ensuring each child can shine as a success story.

Camp Features

Location: Camp Winonah is located on the picturesque shores of Lake Stahahe, surrounded by lush forests, providing the perfect backdrop for adventure and exploration.
Accommodations: Campers are housed in cabin-style settings with 1 counselor for every 6-8 campers, promoting a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
Meals: A balanced menu is provided with three meals per day and evening snacks, accommodating special dietary needs.
Staff: Experienced and certified staff, with a strong focus on safety and well-being, guide activities and ensure a supportive environment.

Activities

Camp Winonah boasts a plethora of engaging activities that not only entertain but also promote personal growth. Here are some highlights:

Swimming: Campers can enjoy refreshing swims in the lake, making lasting memories while learning about water safety.
Sports: A variety of sports activities are offered, including basketball, baseball, and field hockey, encouraging teamwork and physical fitness.
Creative Arts: Campers can express their creativity through painting, writing, crafts, and performing arts, culminating in a “Family and Friends” afternoon showcase.
Nature Exploration: Regular hikes to the nearby nature museum allow campers to engage in interactive lessons about the environment.
Life Skills Development: The camp emphasizes life skills training, covering topics such as effective communication, goal setting, and coping mechanisms.
Themed Activities: Themed programming during each session ensures a varied and fun experience for all campers.

Health & Safety

At Camp Winonah, the health and safety of our campers is a top priority. Measures include:

Daily temperature screenings for all campers and staff.
Mask-wearing protocols where required.
Onsite medical personnel certified in emergency care to address any health concerns.
