Situated along the picturesque southern shores of Lake Vermilion in Tower, Minnesota, HooDoo Point Campground is often referred to as the “Jewel of Tower.” This campground is a perfect getaway for nature enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors.
Camping Experience
Open from May 1st to October 1st each year, HooDoo Point Campground features nearly 60 reservable campsites, providing a range of options from fully-equipped sites with electrical and water hookups to more primitive spots for a true outdoors experience. This variety allows every camper, from leisurely RV owners to adventurous tent pitchers, to find their perfect site.
Campsite Amenities
The campground offers a plethora of amenities designed to enhance your stay:
- Electrical and Water Hookups: Various options with 30 Amp, 20 Amp, and 50 Amp sites.
- Primitive Camping: Non-lakeside primitive sites allow for a more rugged camping experience.
- Modern Facilities: Clean restroom and shower facilities cater to all campers.
- Dump Station: For convenience, a dump station is available for RV users.
- Picnic Areas: Enjoy your meals surrounded by nature.
- Playground: A safe and fun space for kids to play.
- Sandy Beach Area: Relax, swim, and sunbathe at the beach on Lake Vermilion.
- Paved Walking/Biking Trail: A new trail connects the campground to the City of Tower, perfect for leisure activities.

HooDoo Point Campground is located on a lake known for its world-class fishing opportunities. With over 40,000 acres of water, anglers can enjoy abundant species, including walleyes and muskies. Be sure to check out the campground’s record catches—such as a stunning 32″ walleye and a 55″ muskie!

Reservations and Rates
Reservations for campsites can be made online, with rates ranging from $37.00 nightly for non-lakeside primitive sites to $50.00 nightly for lakeside sites with water and electric hookups. Reservations for the upcoming camping season typically begin in early January, so be ready to secure your spot in advance!
