Nestled in the stunning Angeles National Forest, the Lightning Point Group Campground offers an exceptional outdoor experience for groups and equestrian campers alike. This campground is surrounded by the natural beauty of Jeffrey pine, scrub oaks, and manzanita, providing a perfect backdrop for your camping adventure.
Available Campsites
The campground features six spacious group sites that can accommodate a total of 240 campers. Each site includes:
- Group-Sized Tables: Perfect for communal meals and gatherings.
- Horse Corrals: Available at two sites, providing convenient accommodations for equine friends.
Equestrian sites (Site 05 and Site 06) each have six horse corrals, although reservations for horses are not mandatory. All sites are equipped for rustic camping, allowing guests to connect with nature.

At an elevation of 6,100 feet, the campground enjoys summer temperatures in the low 80s, with cooler nights ideal for sleeping under the stars. The campground’s natural environment varies from chaparral and oak forests at lower levels to beautiful pine trees at higher altitudes, creating a rich ecosystem that wildlife can thrive in.

- No toilets or water facilities: Campers need to bring their own drinking water and portable toilets.
- Food safety: Bears frequent this area; all food must be kept in bear-approved containers.
- Pack it in, pack it out: Visitors are expected to bring garbage bags and take all waste with them upon departure.
- Firewood policy: To protect California’s forests, please buy firewood locally and do not move it from other areas.

- Turn left on Santa Clara Divide Road at Mill Creek Summit, then continue for about 11 miles to the campground.
